LIVING THE LESSON
due May 31, 2022

Spaghetti Meal

Random Act of Kindness

(completed as a family)

Our Final Living the Lesson for the 2021/2022 Faith Formation Year!

What a wonderful year it has been! We have spent the year really focusing on how to serve those around us who are most in need. We have looked at those who are impoverished, marginalized and suffering, and have answered the call to serve! But for our final Living the Lesson, Cathy Mackey would like you to think about someone or some people who really seem to need a “pick me up” and perform a random act of kindness for them! For example, do you know a family member, neighbor, or friend who needs some help with yard work, spring cleaning, getting groceries, etc? Can you, as a family, help this person with that need? What about surprising someone you know with a homemade meal or dessert and dropping it off at their house with a handmade card? What can you do, as a family, to help make a difference in the life of someone you know, just by doing something unexpected and kind? It can be anything you can think of for anyone you can think of! Just be sure it takes at least two hours and that you complete this act of kindness as a family. When completed, please send me pictures of what you did! This is due no later than May 31.

“Charity is the sweet and holy bond which links the soul with its Creator: it binds God with man and man with God.”- St. Catherine of Siena

“A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.”- St. Basil the Great

"We must restore hope to young people, help the old, be open to the future, spread love. Be poor among the poor. We need to include the excluded and preach peace."- Pope Francis
