Ash Wednesday & Lent

(completed as a family)

Our Living the Lesson for this month is more specific; our focus will be on Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. For this month, the lesson is twofold: first, please attend Ash Wednesday Mass at any Mass that works for you that day. If you are away for Winter Break, this can be a great opportunity to see a church in the area where you are vacationing and attend Mass there! Second, complete a Lenten activity. This can be something that is a one time event or something that will be continuing throughout Lent. Below are the links to two websites that have so many great ideas for different activities! These activities are different than giving something up for Lent or doing a special deed. They're more visual or concrete things for families to do together to mark the beginning of Lent. But, don't be afraid to come up with something meaningful on your own, if that's what you'd like to do!
*note: families are not expected to complete the activity on Ash Wednesday; you can get your ashes that day and complete the activities at a time during the month that works for you!

Please send Mrs. Mackey a picture of your child with their ashes, as well as a picture of the Lenten activity that you chose to do. This is due no later than March 5 and remember, it needs to be a minimum of two hours!
